THE BRIEF

XKX were given 4 and a half weeks to manufacture and install a temporary roof  terrace on the 5th floor of the IET building, Savoy Place in London. The temporary roof terrace would require a planning application to be passed by WestMinster City Council.

THE SOLUTION

We worked with 3 structural engineers (WRG, WestMinster and IET) and designed  the steel structure, considering point loads, wind load and even the London  underground. The project included an infinity pool, canopy, water feature, viewing platform, 6m spiral staircase and handrails. XKX also removed a skylight and installed a lift.
